Munyori terms of service
Last updated 27 October 2026
These terms apply to the Munyori app and the services that support it (transcription, backups and model downloads), provided by AfricaYamuka Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (“we”). By using Munyori you agree to them. How we handle your information is set out in the privacy policy.
Using Munyori
- Munyori is currently available by invitation. You need to be at least 13 years old to use it.
- Keep your enrolment code, app password and backup passphrase private. You are responsible for what is done with your phone and your account.
- Munyori is still being developed. Features may change, be added or be removed.
Your content
Your notes, recordings and other content belong to you. You give us only the permission needed to provide the service: to receive, transcribe and return recordings you send for transcription, and to store your encrypted backups. You are responsible for having the right to record and store what you record, including the consent of other people where the law requires it.
Fair use
The transcription service has limits, such as the number of minutes of audio per day and the length of a single recording, to keep it working for everyone. Do not use Munyori to break the law, to try to gain access to other people’s data, or to interfere with or overload our servers.
Transcripts and suggestions can be wrong
Transcription and the on-phone assistant are automatic and make mistakes, for example with names, numbers, dates and accents. Check the text before relying on it, especially for anything important such as dates, appointments, health, legal or financial matters.
Availability and backups
- We work to keep the service available but cannot promise it will always be, or be free of errors. Recordings waiting for transcription stay on your phone until the servers can be reached.
- Backups are encrypted with your passphrase, which we never see. If you lose the passphrase, your backups cannot be recovered, by you or by us.
- Keep backups turned on if you want to be able to recover your notes after losing or replacing your phone. Uninstalling the app deletes everything stored on the phone.
Other services
If you connect a Google or Microsoft calendar, your use of those accounts is also governed by Google’s or Microsoft’s own terms. We are not responsible for those services.
Ending your use
You can stop using Munyori at any time, and ask us to close your account and delete what the servers hold by writing to the address below. We may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these terms, or if we stop providing the service; where we can, we will give notice so that you can make sure your notes are safe on your phone.
Liability
Munyori is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data, including through a lost passphrase, a lost or reset phone, or a transcription error. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or affects your rights as a consumer.
Changes
We may update these terms. We will change the date above, and tell you in the app if a change is significant. Continuing to use Munyori after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere, you also keep any protections the law of your country gives you.
